Tony Dennis
Tony Dennis brings more than 20 years of IT and project management experience to the Focus the Nation team. Educated as a Mechanical Engineer with an emphasis on computer science, Tony’s first commercial programming job was translating statistics programs on DEC and VAX computers in 1985. After ten years in the U.S. Army, which provided a variety of Leadership, Engineering and Project Management experience, Tony left to become the software lead of the Combined Maneuver Training Center in Hohenfels, Germany. Tony supervised the installation of a digital audio and digital video system, supervised the integration of weapons systems into the main CMTC applications, and performed Y2K rehabilitation on one of the 100 congressionally designated mission critical systems in the U.S. Government. After a successful Y2K transition, Tony spent two years working for Enron Broadband, where he worked on four projects each budgeted at over $20 million dollars per project, culminating with managing the hardware rollout of a worldwide DSL network valued at $18 million in hardware alone. After Enron, Tony and his wife, Lisa founded Delaris, LLC and have worked on projects for a variety of customers, including the Guam Power Authority, the State of Oregon, the City of Portland, and the Energy Trust of Oregon. Tony is active in the non-profit community and is a member of two non-profit boards, Focus the Nation, an environmental non-profit focused on motivating young people about global warming, and the Columbia Aviation Association, an organization dedicated to the love of flight. He is a Commercial Multi-engine pilot, and is studying to be a Certified Flight Instructor. He is married (22 years) with two boys, 16 and 18.
