Description
This position reports directly to Focus the Nation’s Business & Community Relations Coordinator. Its primary responsibility is to develop business and community partnerships in every state in support of FTN programming. At the heart of FTN’s mission is our ability to support students who want to build a career that changes the world. And for these teams to be successful and our students to feel empowered, mentorship and experience with local experts is critical. These partnerships provide FTN students with intergenerational collaboration, mentorship, high-quality speakers and panelists at Forums, as well as sponsorships, internships and professional development opportunities. This position is unpaid, but offers unparalleled exposure to the clean energy industry. University credit may be possible depending on your institution’s internship policies.
Responsibilities
- Research and develop local partnerships with clean energy businesses and organizations in support of FTN programming
- Support the Business & Community Relations Coordinator in cultivating and maintaining partnerships
- Populate FTN’s social media platforms with relevant and creative content under the direction of FTN’s editorial calendar
- Support the Business & Community Relations Coordinator in coordination of mentorships and internships for F2A students, FTN alumni, and ReCharge! Delegates

Publicly represent FTN in strategically appropriate venues
Qualifications
- Knowledge and interest in the clean energy industry, policy and technology innovation
- Excellent verbal and written communications
- Strategic and creative thinking
- Highly organized

Demonstrated knowledge in business, environmental policy, marketing, sustainability or communications preferred but not required

Its primary responsibility is to research clean energy strategies and resources to assist in the delivery of the Forums-to-Action program. A key component of the F2A program is Solutions in Action, student-led projects that make a tangible clean energy impact on their community. Focus the Nation strives to provide resources and strategies to ensure each student-led project is a success. This position is unpaid, but offers unparalleled exposure to the clean energy industry. University credit may be possible depending on your institution’s internship policies.
Responsibilities
- Work with assigned Leadership Development Coordinator to develop resources to support current Solutions in Action Projects
- Research energy issues pertaining to an assigned region of the United States.

Develop strategy briefs and case studies that will be used by 2012-2013 F2A teams to address the most relevant energy issues by region
