MY MAP Instructions

added an important new feature on our website. Each Focus team can now build and post a Google “My Map”, including video, photos, text, posters, and programs for their events. For an example, CLICK HERE to see what we are doing at Lewis & Clark College. With My Maps, anyone in the world (or the media) can see for themselves what a teach-in involving over 1300 colleges, universities, high schools and other institutions looks like. This will be critical in breaking Focus through the virtual media blackout on global warming as an issue this primary season.

We will feature the Focus teams with the richest My Map sites throughout the month of January and on 1/31. And when people visit our sign up map, they can click on your site to see all that's going on. So please build yourselves a good one!

It is easy to build and post your own My Map; see the instructions below. CALL US if you have any trouble building and posting your My Map.

  1. You should already have a log-in account at Focus the Nation. If you don’t go ahead and SIGN UP your institution.

  2. Create a My Map for your school or other institution. Its easy! VIEW THE TUTORIAL at the Google My Map site.

  3. Make the content as rich as possible—include photos of keynote speakers, posters designed by students, links to regional media coverage of Focus the Nation, and of course, videos videos videos. View a guide on HOW TO EMBED PHOTOS AND VIDEOS HERE.

  4. Finally, to upload your MyMap to your Focus The Nation account, follow the instructions in this INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO. (This one may take a minute to load) The key information here is how to “size” your map so it shows all the campus.
