Media Outreach
A great way to increase the attendance at your event is to get large amounts of media coverage. You are planning a powerful noteworthy event that gives your community a voice on important issues, if you reach out it will receive coverage.
How to Get Famous
Make a list of all of the reporters and bloggers at your local weekly, daily papers, TV and radio stations. Initially reach out to a large amount of reporters, but eventually invest time in developing relationships with a strong handful of reporters. Those relationships will give you a good chance of getting published. A good first step: research reporters and blogs who have covered climate change, social justice, sustainability, youth organizing, civic engagement, education, etc.
