Faith groups / civic organizations
Churches, synagogues, mosques, rotary clubs, book clubs and bicycle clubs – all are joining Focus the Nation by SPONSORING A SHOWING OF “THE 2% SOLUTION”. This national, interactive webcast will air live at 8 PM eastern on January 30th. Host a screening, and then discuss and vote on global warming solutions as part of the CHOOSE YOUR FUTURE on-line referendum. The next day, attend EVENTS AT A LOCAL COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY.
Critical follow-up: make an appointment for the group to visit your congressperson or senator and tell them what you voted for. SIGN UP TODAY.
K-12 Schools
High schools and middle schools will also show “THE 2% SOLUTION” webcast: live in the auditorium the evening of January 30th, that night as homework, or during class or an assembly on January 31st. Other creative ways to get engaged: sponsor art and science poster contests; host student theater and musical performances; INVITE YOUR MAYOR OF STATE REPRESENTATIVE to come talk with students about global warming solutions. Businesses
Focus the Nation is an opportunity to educate your employees, customers, and suppliers about what business can do to help stabilize the climate. Showcase your own sustainability efforts with a poster display. Screen “THE 2% SOLUTION” with employees over the lunch hour, and discuss solutions. INVITE A SPEAKER. Or CONTACT A LOCAL COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY and volunteer to provide a business perspective at a campus Focus the Nation event.
